Last Updated: August 9, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how Unburdening Rites ("the Service," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our website (the "Site"). By using our Site and Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide to us directly.
For Invocations (Service Requests): When you submit an Invocation, we collect:
Your name, initials, or chosen anonymous identifier.
The Recipient's name and telephone number.
The content of the message you wish to be delivered.
Your Offering Identifier (Transaction ID or unique code), if an offering is made.
For Testaments (Anonymous Submissions): When you submit a Testament, we collect the content of the message and your optional "Designation."
2. How We Use Information
The information we collect is used for the following purposes:
To Provide the Service: We use the information from your Invocation form to perform the core service: making the phone call and delivering your message.
To Create Public Content: The central purpose of this Service is to create content for our public archive ("the Ledger"). The recordings of Invocations and the text of Testaments are edited and may be published on public platforms, such as YouTube.
3. Our Data Usage and Retention Policy
Our philosophy is to hold the absolute minimum information for the minimum time necessary. The personal information you submit (your identifier and the Recipient's name and phone number) is used exclusively for the single purpose of creating a Ledger entry.
We will never sell, share, rent, or repurpose the personal information you submit for any other reason.
Once a video has been produced and published from your submission, or if a submission is not selected for the Ledger, the source data containing this personal information will be permanently deleted from our primary systems in a timely manner.
4. Information Sharing and Publication
The core of our Service is public testament. You must understand and agree to the following:
Public Publication: The recordings of Invocations and the text of Testaments are the property of the Service and may, at our sole discretion, be edited and published on our public Ledger.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
5. Your Rights
You are responsible for the information you provide. By agreeing to the Terms of Service, you warrant that you have the legal right and all necessary consents to provide us with the Recipient's information for the purpose of our Service.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
